WhirlyGig
Whirligig is a book about Brent Bishop. In the story he is just an average teen until one night when he goes to a party. He is humiliated by the host and starts to drive home drunk when he decides to commit suicide. Instead of taking his own life he kills a teenage girl. After this the mother of the girl he killed has requested him to build whirligigs in the four corners of the United States: Washington, California, Main, and Florida. Little does he know that the whirligigs that he builds will have a lasting effect on four people.

He is continuing his trip in Kenya meeting his fatherswives and talking to them about his fathers death.
I wonder why he wants to talk to his fathers ex wives about there relationship.
I think a big par of this chapter is remorse. I think Obama is remorsefulo for not seeing his dad a lot.

Watch Your Whiskers, Stilton!
By Geronimo Stilton
This Book is about a mouse who runs a newspaper called the Rodent's Gazette. Stilton's, the mouse, newspaper has stopped being sold all over New Mouse City because a misterious rat has paid off all the news stands to stop selling them.
I wonder why someone would want to shut down the most popular news paper in N.M.C.

Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
Harvest Moon
Pg. 43 Quintin has just learned he inherited a farm from an old man he met long ago and has started his hard work on his new farm.
I predict that the farm will thrive in the coming seasons, and will grow.
I wonder why the people that live in his new town, Mineral Town, are so reliant on him even though he is just getting used to country life.

Pg.330 Obama has taken an extended trip to Kenya to visit family and learn more about his father.
I predict that this will be a life-changing trip for Obama seeing that it is is first time being in Africa, and that he will learn so much about his families history.
In this part of the book Africa definitely plays a huge role in his life and he might make some life-changing decisions.

Pg.273 At this point in the book Obama has a lot of family visiting. His sister and aunt have come, and he traveled to Washington D.C. to see his brother.
I wonder why Obama always thinks about who and what his dad was and why it has such a big conection with his life.
I think family plays a big role in this section of the book, It helps Obama know more about his and his fathers history.

Pg.163 Obama is really gaining momentum with his community organizing job in Chicago and he is starting to get a lot of the local churches involved. the problem is that Obama himself has a problem with faith and religion.
I predict that religion will continue to play a big part in his organizing, and that he will need to change something before he can move on in his life.
Through out this whole part of the book one word is continuously said and talked about, faith. At the end of every meeting he has with a priest or a deacon they always ask him about his faith and he always says he hasn't figured it out yet.

Pg.108 Obama is telling us what his college life was like. like his childhood he is still trying to figure out who he is, from heart-felt speeches to drugs and alcohol , he is working his way through college and getting one step closer to finding his purpose in life.
It seems that most of his problems in life are stemming from the fact that he is black and for the majority of his life has been raised by white people and lived in a white community. He doesn't know if he should be helping the black community or fit into the white one as best he can.
In this part of the book race is a big part. It's not necessarily racism, but he is just so confused and college is not making it any easier.

Pg.71 Obama is telling us about the hardships he faced as a child in Indonesia. He says that most of the time he had fun because he knew no different. They had exotic pets and he loved playing with the other boys, but towards the end of his moms and step-fathers marriage he said things started to get weird and scary. His family was becoming poor and Lolo, the step-father, often slept with a pistol. I notice that Obama keeps referring to how Lolo had so many hardships with his his job, and I think that is one reason his mother and step-father got divorced.
Pg.45 I think that the word power is very important in this section of the book, because it describes the rise and fall of the Indonesian Government, Obama's new family, and most of all, Lolo.

Pg.52
After hearing about his fathers death Obama starts to think about who he is and thinks about the part of his childhood when he lived in Indonesia. He went there because his mother got married to an Indonesian government official. While he was there he witnessed how other idonesion people live.
I predict that Obama will continue to refer back to his childhood throughout the whole story because it seems like a very unique one and it helps him learn more about who he is.
His new step-father had told him that his job is so hard because "the media lies where the power is." I think this is tru because the people who have power have the ability to spin the media the way they want it.

Pg.29 Obama is talking about his early childhood, and telling the reader stories about his father from his mother and his grandparents.
I predict that Obama will continue to tell a lot of stories about his father through the book. In the introduction of the book he says he got a call from a distant relative say his father was killed in a car accident He didn't know how to feel because he had only been with him for two periods of time.
Pg.11 Obama talks about growing up in Hawaii being a miscegenation. A miscegenation is an offspring of people from two different races. This caused Obama internal conflift because he didn't know where he belonged, and this shapes a big part of the book.
